Inner Tantra is the direct way to awaken and deepen awareness through various practices. It focuses on recognising the essence of consciousness, activating the inner bliss-energy cycle, and working with the subtle body’s energy channels, seed-syllables, and sacred symbols (like the maṇḍala and cakra). The process includes learning to rest in the natural state and recognising the primordial awareness that underlies all experience.
Inner Tantra teachings help to seamlessly integrate fundamental experiences and emotions, and ultimately awakening to the fruit of realisation.
Acording to the Tantras themselves, the seed-syllables and practices should not be taught openly but only within the teacher-student context. They are practised in the sanctum sanctorum of one's own shrine and on one's meditation seat.
When received through proper transmission and by maintaining the samayas or principles of Tantra, their power and efficacy in transforming the subtle body and with it the practitioner's awareness becomes unimpeded and guaranteed.
Outer Tantra is based on rituals and outer acts, whereas Inner Tantra is mainly focussed on the presence of the deities and energies within the subtle body and the immediate bursting forth of the luminosity of consciousness from the heart. Inner Tantra is based on the inward perspective and the desire for liberation, rather than outer benefits.
No, it means an inward perspective. Sexuality-related energies flowing in the subtle body channels are systematically transmuted into the experiential union of bliss and awareness. This occurs through a secret inner process requiring no outer acts, taught by the teacher step by step. Rather than the waves of mere outer joys, the yogīs and yoginīs of Inner Tantra experience the bliss of the deity and the vast expanse of their own primordial awareness.
Interestingly, the Tantras do not allow a tantric teacher to charge fixed fees, as this would be a commercial transaction and not the secret spiritual path. The tantric lineages have therefore always worked on the basis of donation, known as dāna or dakṣiṇā. This keeps the transmission pristine and most powerful.
As a thank you for the teaching, Inner Tantra practitioners are thus requested to give donations from the heart based on their means. No-one is turned away for lack of funds.
Having grown up speaking it, our Acharya speaks Sanskrit like a mother tongue and was trained under the greatest Sanskrit grammarians of our time in Paninian Sanskrit, all the systems of philosophy, logic and Sanskrit linguistics, as well as the sandhyābhāṣā or twilight language of the Tantras. Further, he received all instructions regarding the Tantras from his own teachers in confidential transmissions with meticulous and detailed explanations. The translations, renderings, summaries and terminology choices are thus extremely precise and have been lauded by some of the great scholars of our time for their indispensable value.
